There wasn't much wind until just around 1 am, but at that point Dinosaur Point was reminding us that we won't be back till fall. 4 of us were there, including Eric Schrader, Tony Hurtado and Joe Bob Jardine. Company was excellent, we swapped little Heath bars and shortbread fudge cookies. There was a high haze that came and went, but an overhead sky that had a lot more stars than in town. I atypically mooched views, left my scope in the car. My back was twingy and it was probably a good move.I took a binocular tour with my 10x50's and looked at the Sombero, M3, M35 and the Auriga clusters, M37, 38 and 36. Also pointed the binocs at the Beehive, Berenice's Hair, and the Orion Nebula. We looked at Saturn and Titan (all these moochings were in Joe Bob's excellent Portaball), M51, M3, and the Sombrero (M104 in southern Virgo down near Corvus). Between the coyotes serenading us, the stars overhead and the shared views, it was a plenty fun and certainly worth the trip. Bob got his asteroid for the evening, Beatrix, and Tony ran down a bunch of galaxies in Ursa Major. Eric must have done something serious with his beautifully designed scope.
