Dinosaur point 3 17-09

Greg LaFlamme

We had a nice small group at Dino. A half / half split between observers and imagers. The sky was pretty cloudy until 10:30 or so but cleared up almost completely by 11:00. SQM readings got progressively better, reaching a very dark 21.35 by 1:30. I was parked near Julien Lecomte and Mark Johnston, across from me were Bob Jardine and Rob Enns. Next door was Jeff Weiss, Rogelio Bernal Andreo, Al "the cookie-man" Howard and Paul Duncan. There were a couple other folks but I don't remember their names. I tooled around the Leo and Coma clusters armed with very nice labeled DSS sheet provided by Albert Highe. It took me a little while to get acquainted with the respective fields but caught on soon enough. Turns out, I couldn't see all of the galaxies he had labeled but I did get a hunk of them:) It was nice to get out and stretch the eyes again.

I had a great time with a super-cool group of folks. Fun night!
