Lynne Jolitz
Sunday finally provided a nice clear dark steady viewing by midnight. Took out the 10-inch dob with an 03 narrowband filter on driveway and a C8 with new 70mm finder. Spent time trolling through the Coma cluster with the C8 while doing Cygnus and Hercules and Lyra nebula with the dob (it's easier than moving one scope back and forth). Lots of luck with the Veil nebula - was really beautiful - and M57 and the Dumbbell always look great. Stepped inside, leaving the hubby at the C8. Just then, a noisy truck pulled into the driveway to turn around, scaring the local skunk nosing in the garden for grubs. Went running down the walkway right into the C8 and hubby. One long shower for hubby, one big load of laundry for me, and the house is faintly reminiscent of sulfur and rotting fish... Skunk funk. :-)
Lynne.
