The comet VZ13 meets M3

by Stacy McDermott

Got all excited about checking VZ13 near M3 out on Saturday night. Since we had an early morning planned, I decided that I could probably see it from our apartment roof. I was wrong.

I saw something that could have been it, but since I was using binos, I can't say for sure. And oh, the muck! Not only the light pollution, but the air pollution as well really made viewing difficult.

I ended up checking out some other things, such as Alcor and Mizar, Sagittarius, Cassiopeia which ended up a fun though short observing session.

Sunday night, there was high fog...so I got skunked.
