Rancho Seco Park

Date: Saturday June 9th
Time: 10:30 - 12:00
Scope: 10" Dob
Eyepieces: 32mm, 10mm, 8mm plossl eyepieces

Skies early on were cloudy intermittently, but once they passed viewing was great.

Observed with my 5 Cub Scouts -

Actual Cub Scout Observation Comments:

1. Venus - Bright Tennis ball - looked like the moon but smaller

2. Jupiter - Center was orange and red and we could see 4 moons out to the sides.

3. Saturn - Tilted on it's side.You can see the rings There were moons too.

4. Ring Nebula - looked like a redish green bubble.

5. M94 - Cat's Eye Galaxy - was a puffy cloud or maybe like a cotton ball

6. 9 Falling stars were observed

7. 6 Satellite were observed

8. 1 Racoon was observed in a nearby tree

9. 4 Snipes were heard, but none seen.

Thanks again to you all who help me seem like I know something about astronomy and help to perpetuate my love for astronomy.
