Greg LaFlamme

Had a nice time overall. The seeing was poor/fair, my sqm readings were similar to Bob Jardine's 20.95-21.00. The faint stuff wasn't showing very well so I limited my searches for mag 13 and brighter in my 15". I spent time in Cetus, Lepus, Taurus and of course we ogled at the Horse head in Scott Baker's 14.5" Starmaster. A little later, Daniel Stefanescu found it in his 10" Homebrew---no filter! Dan Kaeo was disappointed that the 14th mag stuff wasn't showing in his 10" (the man is totally spoiled) Mark Johnston and I shared a few views as well. He had me look at a nice little grouping of galaxies and note the separation between them, very nice but I don't remember their designations. I showed Mark a real "galactic peanut", a cool set of interacting galaxies that I had found in Cetus, NGC 274-275 and I can just imagine the turmoil going on between them (glad I'm here and not there;-). Pete Santangeli gave me some good tips on imaging and I sure appreciate it, that's a fun guy! Good stuff. Seems like the lot was full of eager eyes in so-so skys. For me it was 60% social 40% observing. I was "this close" to trying LS instead and I hope that Steve and Bill had a deep dark one though I'm not sure I want to know;-)

Gatekeepers, we thank you!
