Holmes mag estimate at mag 3.1 11:30pm (just now)

With laid back chair and fuzzy focus method I would place it between the mag as epsilon CAS 3.35 or epsilon Perseus at 2.9 so I will call it mag 3.1 The surface brightness of the core itself is a lot brighter than the bulk of the visible area as all have noted. To lazy to take out the scope tonight as it is perhaps just about like last night where mag up yielded the same results most have reported. This was at 11:30pm CA time (just a few minutes ago). The method for my mag estimates is by finding a star that when defocused to the same size as the comet is of about the same apparent brightness.
