Comet McNaught observed

Took a while to find, but sighted it about 35mins after sunset (around 5:40pm) from my rooftop in SF. Used 7X50 and 10X30 binos. Bright head with nice, narrow fan-like tail, maybe .75-degree in length.

Quite a bit of smog today, the comet hovered just above the worst of it.

Once I knew where it was, it was time to try to locate it naked-eye. Did so, but it wasn't easy. Mag 1 estimates seem about right; but hard to say, it not being dark, and looking through smog.
