OR: 7-26, MBOSP, Cat's Paw and da Dawgs

by Jeff Crilly

Temps started out at about 73F, then held around 69F by midnight. By 2am we were down to about 63F. RH was at about 45% the whole night.

Dust was a slight annoyance. Those rocks shed themselves. When driving there was a fine grey powder. This is a typical montebello summer scenario.

Btw, when I was heading down the hill, there was considerable fog on the valley. Quite a nice view from the overlooks. However, the sky didn't get very dark to the east. I suspect san jose didn't get the fog last night. To the west and south, it was stars and milkyway down to the horizon.

Unfortunately, the seeing to the south and west (down low) was a bit soft. We hypothesized that the wind from the south (in from the coast) was maybe getting turbulent over some hills. The seeing above at zenith and to the east looked good, but I didn't really make any qualitative (or even subjective) observations there, except w/ binos.
