When I arrived at 6:30PM, Shneor, Bill Vance, Sheldon Berkowitz and George Malyj were already there and setup.
Rob/Melissa and two others; grandpop (forgot name) and Tee, Darrell Lee, Matt Tarlach, Dan/Renee, Randy Muller and Dax Castro and his three boys showed up in that order.
Rob brought his new WO ZS110 triplet refractor on a Vixen GEM mount. Bill with a FS-128 on a Tak GEM mount, George with his home built 18" truss, and Sheldon with 8" Meade SCT. The usual suspects brought their usual gear.
A couple people got a chance to try out the TMB Supermonocentrics and Tak LE's and they apparently liked it. The problem is that you can't get them anymore as it is not being made...but perusing AMart may turn one up once in a while.probably long while and expect to pay some serious bucks for one or two or more.
I've observed some Arp galaxies, a couple Palomars globular clusters while waiting for Andromeda to rise a little higher.
Anyways, here is my OR of some Arps from Saturday night. Looking forward to this Friday night at IHOP (8/25).

UGC 9178 - Faint and elongated (2:1) PA=45, even surface brightness.
Size is about 45" by 15". The companion on the west end is not detected.
Also noticed a small faint round smudge about 1.3' SE of UGC 9178. Even
surface brightness and about 15" across. Researched and found it is a

dominant non-stellar nucleus. About 90 x 45"
NGC 5929 - Bright, round, much brighter center. About 45" across.

stellar nucleus. Size is about 1' across.
NGC 5615 - intermittingly visible w/TMB Supermonocentrics. Very small
fuzzy star that is on the NW edge of NGC 5914. Less than 10" across.

little extension to the north. No arm detected. Size is about 1'
across.
NGC 5994 - Considerably bright, slightly elongated (3:2) PA=100 Even
surface brightness. Size = 20" on long side
Arp 65 - NGC 91/MAC 0021+2225 (Andromeda)

diameter
NGC 93 - Considerably bright, elongated 2:1 PA=45 Very dominant core.
1' across
NGC 83 - Very bright, round much brighter center. 1' across
Arp 74 - UGC 1626/MAC 0208+4128 (Andromeda)
22" f/4.1 reflector @ 305, 327 and 458x
UGC 1626 - Low surface brightness, even featureless round disk that is
about 1' across.
MAC 0208+4128 - Very small fuzzy star pops in and out. Located just
outside the south edge of UGC 1626
Arp 145 - UGC 1840/Anon 0220+41A (Andromeda)
22" f/4.1 reflector @ 327x
This is a pretty interesting pair. At first look, only Anon 0220+41A
was visible. Upon further scrutiny, a hazy smudge just to the north of
a pair of 13th magnitude stars popped into view
Anon 0220+41A - Considerably bright, round, even surface brightness.
30" across
UGC 1840 - Extremely faint fuzzy round spot merged with two stars to the
south. Faint extensions to the north. Size is about 45" across. Anon
0220+41A lies about 30" due east.
Arp 158 - NGC 523 (Andromeda)
22" f/4.1 reflector @ 327, 458x and 573x
NGC 523 - Very interesting object. Bright thin streak with two stars on
the ends. Even surface brightness with a small brightening in the
center. PA = 90 and about 2.5' long. At 573x, a very small stellar
nucleus was seen in the middle.
Arp 273 - UGC 1810/13 (Andromeda)
