Earlier saw the C fragment as it had already passed the The Ring Nebula and it of course looked much dimmer than it did a week ago at The Texas Star Party where it was naked eye.
Moonlight certainly had a lot to do with that but as I raised my 10 inch dob to look at the trailing B fragment which had been the dimmer of the two I was amazed to see that it's now the brighter of the two!
Bright starlight nucleus with large coma and small tail..
Anybody else up looking and see what I'm seeing?
2:00 A.M.
Moon lower in the West.
Wow! The B fragment has definitely brightned!
Intense starlike nucleus with surrounding coma. Must be in outburst!
The C fragment is really hauling butt against the background sky. Bigtime movement since I saw it at midnight.
