Another Image from the Astro-Balcony

by Bill Drelling

Thank goodness the skies were clear last night. I was able to take this image of M57 using my Meade DSI Pro and the FSQ.

The exposures were

R = 15.0 Seconds x 60 Subframes
G = 25.5 Seconds x 60 Subframes
R = 28.5 Seconds x 60 Subframes

I'm still going for the "low hanging fruit" by keeping the exposures to under 30 seconds. That way I don't have to worry about guidng. Just want to see what the imager can do through all that light pollution. The number of subframes may be off a little since I fell asleep on the couch once or twice, but the exposure times for each frame is correct. It sure is nice being able to do this from home!

Tonight I'll be up at Chabot, but if it is clear when I get home I'll try for a galaxy again.
