Observing Report

March 10, 2006 5:15 am

Well aren’t you a sight this time of the morning? Out again, and home with the dawn. See-- the sky's already paling and new- And you still in your party clothes! You don't think I know who you've been out with the last few nights? You could stop a truck looking like that , No, now, don't turn on the lights, Let me wake up , I love to wake up slow and warm in the morning quiet … And I have a full day ahead Shhh- don't wake your father Of course he waited up for his little girl! Up since three, he was.. Look at him- falling asleep in that book again, the old fool -- I don’t think he ever even turned the page! I covered him a little while ago, And rain predicted today He'll wake red-eyed and chilled, My two night-owls-- So like him, but you're never up as late Nor keep his oddball hours. Deep down, you're a steady girl. We've had so little time to talk lately Seem to pass each other by before the day's begun Come on honey, sit down and snuggle awhile Such a pretty dress-- Oh - your hands are cold, Here hold my mug, have a sip That'll warm you up. Let me take off your heels and rub-- oooh! those poor chilly toes. Pull up the blanket around you- Yes it is a new one, you like the lacy edge? I finished it just now waiting There let Mama tuck you in! Don't be hurt honey, a two week romance isn’t for my girl! Of course I was watching!, I saw you with him the other morning. I had the glasses- These old eyes never see far enough . Yes, I know you're too old for me to tell you what to do But once a mother always a mother. Oh, most people never even noticed him-- that little flash in the span-- A little short, and not the brightest thing is he? Who knows where a fellow like that has been? And you know that eccentric type-always attracted to the prettiest lights He'll get too close, and crash and burn-- Or swing out following some little starlet never to be seen again-- Look, he's already hightailing it out of here, Just goes to show- you can't trust a man who'd wear a green suit! You never will run with the unreliable crowd for long, not my girl. Your old steady, that nice boy's been by in the evening He's not so stormy as last time, . Now I know I know he's no flame, not even with that red-headed temper. But deep down, for all your opposition, You know you were meant for each other. Just give it some time, he'll be round again before you know it. It's all right honey, Oh, sweetie, so tired- My baby- falling asleep in your pretty dress Your earring caught in the lace edge-- A pearl in all the fluffy blues and pinks So pretty still- you could stop a truck with that bright smile It's all right, just hush and sleep. Love you honey... All's right.

A for the day, Bill!

The pearl is the last glimpse of V. between the clouds.

Sorry for the non-technical report-- it just sort of happened, and the picture painted itself. Carol

Intriguing. A literary form of asto-concentration. Well done, by the way. I think I'm missing a lot, but here goes...

Mother is the Sun: Offering warmth, and "passing by" seem to be a clue relative to the daughter. Could be mother earth, though, with the clouds being the blanket. Hmmmmm!

The daughter is Venus. I think the "lacy edge" describes illuminated clouds in the sky at dawn.

Father is Jupiter...rising at 3 am is the clue there.

The suitor is the new comet, Pojmanski

The "old steady" is Mars

The phrase "pearl in all the fluffy blues and pinks" could also be a description of the orion nebulae, though perhaps not a telescopic view. I'm gonna stick with Venus in the clouds at dawn, though.

fun! Nice to have the list back on line. Thanks to all who made it possible.
