It was definitely worth driving to MB last night. David and I were the only ones there. We had to drive through quite thick fog, but we got above it well below the altitude of the OSP.
It wasn't perfect -- there were occasional bands of clouds moving around here and there (but mostly clear), the transparency was variable, and the seeing was a bit soft. Still, after many days of rain (and many more apparently on the way), it was nice to get any kind of sky visibility at all. Oh, and it wasn't cold!
All in all, a pretty good night. We packed up around midnight. Thanks, David, for inspiring the trip, calling the rangers, etc.
OR, perhaps, when there is more time.
Happy Solstice or whatever you prefer to celebrate around this time of year. Also happy Newton's birthday to all.
