MB conditions

Seeing was variable, it seemed; It wasn't awful. The temps were cool, but it seemed to get drier as the night wore on; the dew wasn't that bad.

Despite all that, Mars was looking nice (once I recollimated my SCT a little). Once it got out of the muck and light dome of Palo Alto/Los Altos, it provided more detail.

The real highlight of the night were the impressive meteors. I counted about eight, and five of those were stunners. We had several with smoke trails; one completely shattered and flamed out at the end. Some were so bright they seemed like a camera flash and lit up the site. I was talking to Marek by my scope when a flash went off and we both were a bit startled.

I left about midnight due to cold and hunger. :)
