backyard/driveway was: [TAC] How was FP last night?

I really wanted to go to MB but I'd been at Houge Park on Friday and picked up a C8 that I needed to familiarize myself with. It would have been nice to that in the company of experts but I was stuck in the backyard. Still I manouvered it to M57 and M28 without trouble after mounting a Rigel finderscope. I have a new found respect for those that use side viewing regular finderscopes though, that was tough. A Kestrel, Rigel or even a red-dot scope sure makes aiming a lot easier.

Later, around 1.30 AM I sat on the driveway with my binos for a little and enjoyed the Eastern sky a bit. From my back yard the East is hard to see. In fact all but Zenith is hard to see from there :-) Pleiades was terrific. If it hadn't been for that darn streetlight (the only one on our block, right in front of us) it would have been pretty good seeing.
