Huge Loop Prominence (now showing)
by Kevin Schuerman
Anyone out there with access to a telescope with an H-alpha filter should go out and take a look at the Sun. There is a huge, textbook-quality loop prominence extending off the limb of the Sun. With my TV-76/Coronado 60/5mm Nagler, the arcing plasma shows a fair amount of detail. The rest of the Sun is pretty quiet, but this one is worth a look. I've never seen a prominence so well defined.
