Woodside May 03 (UT)

by Michael Linnolt

Did some quick observing last nite. Mainly I wanted to catch the passing of Io behind Jupiter's disk at 8:29 PM. It was right on time, of course. Seeing was definitely below par though, with the satellite barely visible the majority of the time as it approached the south EB. In the rare moments of clarity I could see the round ball of Io merge with the planet. Pretty cool.

Then switched to a few cataclysmic variables:

V442 Centauri V=12.6 in outburst.
GZ Cancer <14.1
TW Virgo <14.4
