Pacheco
by Michael Linnolt
I was there with my 8" f/3.7 and showed the public the Moon, Jupiter,
Saturn, M42, M81/82 and Comet Q2/Machholz. The comet was still visble at
about m1=7.7 and some detail could be seen in Jensen's 18" Dob, possibly
the remnants of a tail or assymetry in the southern part of the coma.
At the very end, a few of us caught Omega Centauri at about 5deg elevation
in a gap in the hills which block part of the southern horizon there.
A fun event!
