We saw the GRS transit across jupiter, but afterwards, the seeing degraded sharply. Still, we took in all the deep space objects we could see including splitting double stars.
By the time bootes was high in the sky, we couldnt even split Izar but were still able to have a good time last night in my back yard. Dew never became an issue. I didnt have to use my heaters at all. It was a gamble on the humidity, but turned out ok.
Generally I use a TV-85 piggy backed on my C14, with a telrad also. The Smaller refractor gives me the wide field views for spotting the large open clusters.
We called it a night when Cygnus came up, just catching a glimpse of the dumbbell as the last object to view.
Its been over a month since Ive been out viewing, so it was a welcome clear night, despite the less than favorable seeing conditions.
