Initially, I had planned on testing the altered-300D on the 8" schmidt-newt, but it turns out there are some backfocus issues I need to work out. (doh!)
So I pointed the thing at jupiter and saturn, and oh my, do the planets look nice.
(Must be that bay effect kicking in that gives palo alto sub-arcsecond seeing.)
