Telescope | Celestron 8" Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope (SCT) on CG5 Equitorial Mount. |
Camera | Canon EOS 20D, with 28mm to 105 mm lens and Quantaray Macro Telephoto Lens - 75mm to 300mm lens. |
Weather | Parially Cloudy sky. Thin cirrus type of clouds. Was able to view the Halo moon. Able to see the features on moon thru the thin clouds. Took some pictures. Some of them came out ok, especially the craters in the south - Maurolycus and Gemma Frisius etc. |
Features observed:
Mare Crisium, Mare Fecunditatis, Mare Serenitatis, Mare Tranquilitatis, Mare Nectaris, Mare Frigoris, Palus Somni, Proclus, Atlas, Hercules, Eudoxus, Aristotles, Piccolomini, Rupes Altai, Theophilus, Cyrillus, Catharina, Posidonius, Maurolycus, Gemma Frisius, Manilius. It was quite a contrast to observe the features through thin clouds and noticing that craters appeared to be dimly lit and clear at times.
