Sunday, March 13th 2005 - Solar Observation Report

Time1:40 pm to 3:20 pm
LocationFremont, CA

There were some passing clouds initially and then sky was very clear. Observed the Sun Spots - 741, 742 and 743 and captured some images also. Sun spot 743 was thick, with fringes allround it. Sun spot 742 (roughly in the middle was large somewhat enlongated and distributed over a wider region. Sun spot 741 was very small but distinctly seen (closer to the rim).

Time6:15 pm to 7:30 pm - 3rd day moon
LocationFremont, CA

Features observed:

Mare Crisium, Firmicus, Lacus Perserverantiae, Vendelinus, Lame, Langrenus, Petavius, Furnerius, Stevinus, Snellius, Mare Spumans, Dorsum Oppel, Picard, Pierce, Messala, Messala A, Promontorium Agarum, Endymion, Yerkes, Cleomedes, Geminus, Endymion, Alhazen, Hansen, Burckhardt, Tralles, Condorcet and Apollonius.

Captured some good images of various craters and the 3rd day moon.
