New toys were enjoyed; Dennis' slicko denkmeier power switch diagonal, Lance's megrez 80mm semi-apo.
Old toys were enjoyed; my old brass scope - today I got a tentative positive ID from the firm that likely made this old scope - Broadhurst Clarkson & Co. still in business in the UK.
Cookies were enjoyed by all - thanks Dennis.
Saturn was stately - fleeting moments of 11/10 seeing - moons abundant ( though this time I regret I didn't see many moons that were not really there).
Sigma Orionis was examined by all (a kinda swanky double/triple/asterism thing).
Went to look for certain doubles, couldn't resolve any on my plan with certainty - angst, self abasement and raspberry sounds.
Bay area light dome insignificant due to moisture-rich low fog layer, however bright moon cancelled out any advantage. Performed ritual for repeat in 2 weeks. CSC was pretty much on target, it was warmer and drier up there than in the valley. Some wispy clouds, dew on the cars but not on the scopes.
No intergalactic disintegrators were aimed at planes or coyotes (no coyote serenade tonight), but the ranger on duty came by twice and was very pleasant.
