Solar Observing w/ John Dobson at Scope City

I picked up John for the raffle fete at Scope City yesterday at 9:30. He suggested we take his solar scope,which we did. The well used and worn smooth faded blue rocker box had a plaque bearing the words: " MT. KOBAU STAR PARTY 1993 MOST INNOVATIVE DESIGN"

At the entrance to the North Point Building (which used to house the United Airlines reservations center) at 350 Bay Street, we got a crowd of people to look at a sun spot. Someone asked John what a sunspot was "A magneto hydrodynamic zit on the face of the Sun" came the reply.
