MB Star Party
by James Turley
Under a warm soft late summer night sky, about 20 scopes showed up for a
VIP Montebello Docent Star Party. It was a wonderful enchanting evening
presented by TACos doing what they do best: sharing their enthusiasm and
care for the Night Sky with others.
Highlights included:
- Sunset over Mt. Tam, with views of Pt. Reyes
- Peter McK's night sky talk
- Marek and Sara's sumptuous spread, catered by Andronicos
- Marble Slab ice cream by Bonnie and Alex
- Joe Bob's 17.5" Mark III Prototype Albert scope
- An 10" AP Mac Cass on an AP1200
- Dan Wright giving Goto sky tours while reading famous quotes of
legendary astronomers to the guests while at the eyepiece
- Missing completely the 1-day old moon
Thanks to Peter McKone for organizing the event, and to all the TACos
who broke off mid week to help out. Bravo!
