Clear and windy night at Lick
by Rich Neuschaefer
Lick had the first of its Summer concert series last night. The job of some of the volunteers was to bring a telescope for the visitors to look through while waiting for a lecture or waiting to look through one of the big telescopes. It was really blowing and were partly sheltered by the building. The seeing was quite good. You just had to watch out for charts and other things blowing away. It was a fun night but I hope the wind is so strong the next time.
When I got home I checked the Lick website and the wind was ranging from 25mph to 33mph.
