Brief OR: Montebello

by Bud Wittlin

With Coyote off the board due to other Saturday commitments, I managed to arrive at Montebello about 8pm, greeted by newbie Dan Levy, son Joshua and their new Orion 8, and joined later by Amid (sp?). We had one visitor with 3 youngsters in tow looking for the Easter Bunny, but instead happy with views of the planets and M42. The weather was perfect, 60's dropping to 50 by 11pm, no fog. After 10 pm we were able to snag nice view of M65-66 and other galaxies in Leo with good detail (12.5 Albertscope). Seeing was surprisingly good but a bit soft on the planets.

A small showing but a good night. Planning to be there this Wednesday with the usual suspects.
