Nice night, last night!

by Julius Szakacs

Last to days were crappie seeing, but last night was very smooth. I had the C-11 out, looking at Saturn than later Jupiter.

Trying to compare C11 to my C102 APO. Seems the C-11 pulls in bit more detail than the 4" APO, but not as sharp or contrasty. Looks like APO's are the KING on planets.

With the C-11, I was able to see 3 moons of Saturn, they are Mag 9-10, shades on the planet surface, Cassini div showed very clear and the Encke come and go. Very nice! Used my 12.5mm ortho 250x, also my bino-viewer. Image scale is much largerin the C-11 than in the 4". Jupiter came over the roof, after 1am, it showed some details in it's band, Jupiter moons have bears and spikes, it's much nicer in the APO, they look like small balls.

Temperature dropped to 3.5 C deg, was getting cold, so I packed up.

Too bad, I missed Saturday, heard, seeing was fantastic.
