Calstar 2003 - summary from the Scull perspective
by Craig Scull
Memorable views:
- Everything I saw in the 30" - especially Perseus I
(Abell 426) which showed 15 galaxies in a high power
field (300x?), and M13 which showed two very interesting
parallel dust lanes midway out from the core
- Seeing the 3 companions of 7331 in an 8" telescope
(ranging from 14.5-15.2 magnitude)
- Seeing lots of cool meteors over the heads of all the
people I talked to
Thanks to James Turley for being my eyepiece godfather
who lends us the eyepieces we left at home or need to get
-- an Optilux 40mm in this case which delivered some
really nice views of the larger objects in the sky.
Thanks also to Alvin who gave us a 6pack of bottled water
so we didn't have to drink from the spigot.
