OR: 8/27 2:51am from parking lot in Fremont
by Michael Swartz
I took my little scope out last night into our well lit apartment lot around
2:30am and hung out until a little after 3:15am.† I wanted to be there out
under that bright orange/red orb as it made itís pass through itís closest
proximity to earth in my lifetime.† I would never have a chance to get
closer to Mars than at that moment so I wanted to see it.†
It would have been fun to be up on Fremont Peak with the more serious
observers but I went where I could.
The location wasnít great, the seeing wasnít great, but I was there.† I was
participating in a moment in history.†
I saw it.† I felt it.† It was very cool.
