MB Last night.

by Phil Chambers

So about 8 or 9 scopes showed up at MB. It was a gorgeous night. Above 60deg, quite dark in the south and southwest, low humidity, very very nice.

We looked at Omega Centuri and Centuri A in the notch in the hills. Nick had his 10 inch SN with a Mintron cam. It was showing all kinds of detail in galaxies.

The 8in SN that I just picked up is a nice scope. It was quite a bit out of collimation and still is a little but gave nice views of various targets. The 40mm mk70 is not usable in the daytime at all in it but at night when you are dark adapted it performs quite satisfactorily. Nice wide views at 20x.
