The Seeing Stinks Here in Monterey!

Man...I've set up the scope to do a few hours of backyard deck observing and what do ya know....everything in the eyepiece at 100X looks terrible. I can't tell the stars from anything else that's on a list. The Trapezium looks like M8, the Lagoooon. Saturn now looks like M1. That's what I get for a nice warm evening in January--mush. I'll leave everything set up and try again tomorrow night, before the weather shifts back to winter norm--clouds and possible rain in a few days.
