Sat night MB

by Murali Balasubramaniam

Looks like you guys had fun after I left :-( Anyway, there'll be other days, I'm sure. Although my chances of another night out during December seem bleak :-(

Yes, it was a great night for me. The group was really enthusiastic and ready to help out a rank amateur like me. Dennis helped me with collimation and I saw the most beautiful sights of Saturn that I've never seen through my scope! Thanks for the dew shield too, Dennis.

It was great to talk to everyone, since each had some new advice to offer me!

Robert was highly enthusiastic and asked me a very interesting question - how will Saturn's ring appear to an observer on or IN Saturn? Any ideas?

The dew did get to most of my lenses, particularly my filter. I had to wipe it off with a handkerchief (ugh!). Is there a good way to clean these lenses, now that they have fingerprints and lint all over?

Hopefully there'll be more (and better) nights of observation this winter!

Have fun.
