I read all the *Saturn rising* mails at work this morning around 3am (working graves for a while) and decided to run home and grab the scope. At 4am I had all my co-workers huddled outside "ohh"-ing and "ahh"-ing around my little dob... I love that!! What made it particularly nice is that we were viewing over a small pond in the middle of the office complex which seemed to improve the seeing drastically, well beyond anything I've ever perceived (Cassini sharp at 96x).
Is this something to do with temperature/air currents/humidity over the water?
now if I can just get the management to shut off the outdoor lights....
