Shingletown

by James Turley

James here, at Fatpipe Internet Café, Redding, boiling.

Arrived Thurs High Noon, heat waves rising from the dusty tarmak. Those lucky enough to be there Wed PM raved...Milky Way casting shadows. Oh yeah?

Temps at Airpt never dropped below 100.

Pizza and Star KaraOK rivaling David Lynch's Twin Peaks (and maybe Eraserhead). Missing was the Log Lady.

Cloud buildup at 7PM. Good zenith only by 10PM. Midnight 30% of sky usable. By 1Am....Extinction event. 66 degrees, 44 percent at 1AM.

Awoke at 730AM (Fri), 100% cloud cover, searching for our Star.

Now...almost High Noon Redding, 95.

We are hopeful for a good night tonight, but not too hopeful. Plan B is a poker game in the Event Tent.

Later

James wondering how wonderful Plettstone is (or MB)
