There was a very good turnout at Montebello tonight. The sky was mostly clear. I think the transparency was a little better Tuesday night. The seeing was poor, at least early on. Only 24 hours earlier the seeing had been quite good. Later in the evening, Jay found the seeing not bad near zenith.
I had hoped the seeing would be at least as good as it was on Tuesday. I set up my AP 155mm f/7 EDFS. I had also intended to do a little shootout with a couple of my smaller refractors. The seeing was so bad I didn't think it would be useful to do the shootout. Given Jay's observation, maybe I should have tried splitting doubles high overhead.
It was an interesting night. Galaxies, globulars, a few planets, and a comet.
