Thanks Rich!
Last night was a night of discovery for me containing allot of firsts. I always enjoy going to TAC functions because of the great people and the infinite patience shown by the members with newbies. I have promoted this organization to my friends and family ever since the first time I attended one of the functions because of their dedication and patience. I felt no qualms at inviting the coeds when I realized that they were unable to finish their class project at Houge on Friday and knew that they would get a patient, helping hand from the people at Coe.
Last night I was using a SJAA loaner 8" SCT (another club that people must be tired of me talking about) and was trying to find M13. I was using a Meade 24.5 SWA and I was looking at the wrong group of stars and imagine my amazement when I see this fuzzy oblong object that wasn't anywhere near where I thought that M13 should be. I tried to find it on my computer using Starry Night Backyard and when I didn't it is a testament to TAC that I had no hesitation to ask for help in identifying the object. This is not much of an observing report but they will come in the future as I become more confident.
Other firsts is I got to meet Jamie Dillon (I have always loved the quotes at the end of your emails BTW), and it was the first time I have ever seen a comet.
Thanks to all of you!
