MacKay's news from Monday got me going on the same idea I'd been hatching, and Tuesday night Felix came out of the garage and got set up in front of our next door neighbors' house. Our backyard is much better than the front for stargazing (yup, streetlights), so our neighbor buddies have seen Felix coming and going but hadn't peeked thru the eyepiece.
Big fun, collared the folks from across the street, so 9 of us took turns gawking at the planets. And yes, first-time views for several. Seeing was decent, so discerning viewers like Jo got to see the GRS. People sitting on the grass, lining up when new planets came up, talking about it. Really good time.
And sure enough, we picked out the one good window this week so far. The marine layer hasn't let up at all today.
