LSA north shore

Another casual report from the weekend. We took just the RFT90 to a Scout camporee. On the way, from Lockwood Liam and I showed the planets to our passengers, two middle school boys. Mercury was well above the horizon, so everybody got a thrill. Kevin and Ryan were impressed.

Our troop was at the far end of the camping ground, so I got to show off some scope views to our guys without getting inundated. Adults were just as excited as the kids. Jupiter and the Moon got the biggest ahhh's.

Had a pleasant surprise late that night when getting up to whiz. It must've been around 4; Scorpius was way up and the summer Milky Way was showing off its glory. It was a quality sky with dense starfields. 24 stars in the Finnish Bootie, registering 6.2 LM. Wouldn't want to know what Kingsley or al Mansour or Wagner would've gotten for a count. Went back to sleep smiling.

Tonight Jo and Liam and I were on the sidewalk watching 5 planets plus Moon. This is gonna be some spring.
