I must admit there appeared to be some concerned looks as the stratus layer moved in from the West just about the time the sun was setting. And, unfortunately, the sky was mostly obscured by the time it was dark enough to observe. So, we had a social hour with JF supplying the pizza (thanks Jay) and others supplying good conversation. What a GREAT GROUP we have.
Then, as the clouds cleared and a wonderful night of observing began it seemed like all conversation stopped as people got busy observing.
Thanks to Marsha for pointing out two faint doubles in the trapezium, to Albert and Peter for their fabulous views of Saturn in their Dobs, including direct vision views of Enceladus, to Wag for introducing me to the Jumping Bean Cluster (NGC 2362), to James for the great BBQ, and to everyone else who made the evening so enjoyable.
