Arrived at FP WS just before the end of astronomical twilight. Two other cars there. One a hiker, one doing????
Cloudy and clear, I though I would be a sucker to setup (I was going for my last 100 of the H400). Drove down to the Sunset Square (at the west end of Coulter Row). Found Bob and Pete there. We talked for a while and saw Mercury and Castor through Bob's C8. Fireworks over Santa Cruz. Lots more sucker holes. Bright flares from campers in love with BBQ starter fluid.
2nd time in a row I failed to observe due to weather. Traffic between SJ and Gilroy (3pm) was ok, but 101 came to a near stop 5 miles before the 152E turnoff. I am going to have to find an alternate route to Dino soon. Or move.
(in fear of the weather I stopped to have dinner with a friend near Watsonville, as so the evening wasn't a total waste.
