Brief Dino report for 14 April, 2001

by Jay Reynolds Freeman

The high haze and cloud that had covered most of the Bay area blew out of Dino in the early evening. We had a quite good night. I have seen better -- there was still occasional impediment to transparency near the southern horizon -- I was working 33 to 39 south declination occasionally -- but in general, Harvey the C-14 was mostly working to the deep-sky limits that I expect. I logged 162 observations between roughly 8:30 PM and half past midnight. Temperature dropped to 8 C, but with little or no wind. Relative humidity peaked at 80 percent, but none of the surfaces of my car or equipment had dew on them. There was no fog.
