Bad hair night and wet hounds at Coe

by William G. Schultz

I observed within Coma Berenices and Canes Venatici. Fog was an intermittent problem, more a problem than not. I was able to log 11 H400-1 objects when the aperture cap was removed.

Seeing was great, and when clear, the sky was dark and transparent. Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Jose lights were completely absorbed by the cloud layer. As with that time in November, the clouds came in waves.

If I only had another 500 ft of altitude. The night would have been gorgeous (until the high level clouds rolled in at midnight).

It's time to roll over and get some sleep. SNIFF!
