Skies were not bad early in the night, but deteriorated toward the end. I'd say the best parts of the sky were mag 6.5. Lots of light pollution to the West, but good to very good Soutnern sky most of the night - much better then HGO has been most of the past two years.
The highlight of the night for me was catching Copeland's Septet, a compact galaxy group in Leo (and also a Hickson object) (thanks to Randy's identifying an NCG number...), and then some fooling around in Virgo.
Judging from the number of times Jim was asked to find objects in his 12" LX-200, I'd say GOTO definitely has a future.
Overall, I'd say this is a good Winter site, especially if you're interested in viewing toward the South.
