How much better was it last night? I got lucky and hit the right collimation screw, but it still seemed like night and day from Sun. (Or is that night and night:)

Last night around 10pm was really quite good (at least by winter standards) where we were (San Jose near SJCC). Swirls around the GRS, turbulence following it, spots in the north polar regions and the rift in the NEB, a couple of festoons. Views of the A-ring gap and some banding and turbulence on Saturn. Easy sighting of E and F in the Trapezium with the 5" Tak, and lots of clumpiness in the nebula. Magnifications up to 200x reasonably sharp. Much better than the previous few days.
