Last night, from Henry Coe State Park, a dark site, the comet was a very bright telescopic object and was also plainly visible in binoculars after twilight was over. It had a very bright small nucleus surrounded by a fairly large halo, and a tail that appeared fan-shaped early on, but which grew to resemble an elongated parabola as the darkness settled. It is essential that the viewer begin looking as soon as possible toward the end of twilight, because this comet is in the west and sinks rapidly as the evening progresses.
Good luck!
