I looked at the comet again last night from Palo Alto. I still couldn't see it in 7x50 binos although its advancement into Ursa Major made the field easier to locate. I did spot it easily in my daughter's Bushnell 4.5 inch Astroscan-type reflector (which cost less than the binos) at about 15x. It was distinctly wedge shaped, with no long tail visible. From my location none of the Ursa Major stars below the bowl of the dipper are readily naked eye visible to me at this time of the year.
