Well, we are at Coe... it look like we need about another 1000 ft of altitude. We are in the middle of the cloud bank.

No laughing now!!

However, sun was out in the valley so we will wait.

(Paul here...yep, we're crazy. But we're here, so we'll wait and see if it clears. Come on up! -)

The fog has lifted but the high clouds have not moved out. Amazingly, there seems to be no dew.

Its looking much better but it has quite a ways to go.

We have anice view of San Jose at this point. GOES 10 pictures look pretty good.

Beer and sandwiches will have to suffice for awhile. Paul has the 12.5 set up.

There is only the 2 of us.

OH yes, the parking lot has a gravel layer on it and is just fine. This place is OK in the rain. Iremember a thread on that a while back.

Aha, all you naysayers.. The sky lhas cleared quite nicely.

Dave Kingsley showed up so there are now 3 optimists up here.

Time to set up.... bye

I use the Ricochet wireless service. I am way out of range at Coe but have line-of-sight to San Jose and Morgan Hill. At 900mhz it works if I put the modem on top of the Suburban.

We were watching the NRL satellite loops earlier in the evening. The battery gave out about the last message. I need to find a plug so I can use the 12v at the truck.

The evening was abbreviated but nice while it lasted. The trapizium showed off E & F, there were multiple cloud bands visible on Jupiter and the Cassini division was sharp and clear as well as the shadows of the rings and some bands on Saturn.

Early when covered with clouds and fog, it was dry. When it cleared, it got wet, then eventually the fog settled back in. As I was leaving, it was starting to clear up again and Dave K stayed noting that Paul and I may be the sacrifice required for it to clear up.
