Jupiter occultation

I was in Pacheco State Park last night, along with Rich N. and several other sky watchers. I watched (sporadically) Jupiter approach the star starting as soon as it was reasonably dark.

I viewed the occultation through my orange tube C8 which gave very nice images even at magifications of 250+. I was delighted to read your question about flashes. Yes, I saw flashes! At least two were over a magnitude. I wasn't sure what to expect but the intensity of the flashes surprised me.

I didn't watch the reappearance or the Io phenomena.
